Han Solo was my first crush. I had it majorly bad for him when I was but a wee girl. And then he gradually morphed into my Dad. Seriously, my dad is kind of a Harrison Ford/Steven Martin hybrid, in looks and personality. So these days I see him and just get the creeps. No offense, Dad! XD
Also, I love the menwithlegs-crossed blog.

sparklermonthly:

We did it! Yaaaay! Thanks for all your help getting us across the finish line, folks!

Omg, Kickstarter SUCCESSFUL! So happy!!!

Everyone has been so supportive and encouraging! Thank you for all your help!

Books books books! *squeals in undignified manner*

Anonymous said: Hi! :) Just dropped by to say that I love your Viewfinder fics! They are a treasure in the fandom; awesome characterization and plots and everything. Hope you continue to write more! Thank you and much love :D :D :D

Thank you so much! It’s such a great feeling to hear that someone is enjoying them. I am still in love with VF and the fandom, so I’m not planning on disappearing anytime soon. I do have a new chaptered fic in the works, though it got derailed this month because…stuff, lol. But I WILL be posting a followup to that one soon. I’ve been dying to write this cyberpunk-esque take on Viewfinder for a long time. :) <3

Whoa, I almost missed this! I chipped in for a physical book. I hope you meet the goal!

Thank you so much! <3 I was just thinking about the story you wrote about Asami reading my book. (It wasn’t really the reading my book part I was thinking about XD.)

Gauntlet Kickstarter

Time is running out on the Kickstarter to back my novel, Gauntlet, getting a print run!

The chapters of Gauntlet are free to read, for the month of June only, to coincide with the Kickstarter. In July, Sparkler will release an e-book of Gauntlet. Since they’re still a young company, a print run for their titles is 100% dependent on a successful Kickstarter.

Incentives to pledging (based on the tier pledged) includes artwork, ebooks, subscriptions to the Sparkler Monthly site, other merchandise, an editorial write-up from the Sparkler team for a comics or prose project, a cameo in the novel which would appear in the e-book and the print version, and even me writing a story based on your specifications!

Please take a look, and feel free to pass it on to anyone else who might enjoy this kind of fiction. The novel is illustrated by Teaat2am, so it comes with some lovely art too!

In any case, you should definitely check out the Sparkler Monthly site. They have some new titles starting this month that sound great! (Skyglass: Sex, elves, and Rock ‘n’ Roll, yes yes??)

And here’s just a little bit of info about the publisher:

Chromatic Press is a new independent publisher who went live with Sparkler Monthly last June. It’s a digitally based monthly format publication, similar to the Japanese manga magazines styles. They feature comics, audio dramas, and prose.

Using their words: “Sparkler Monthly is a multimedia, digital shoujo/josei magazine of original English-language fiction. The primary audience for Sparkler Monthly is girls and women aged 15 and up, or anyone interested in the rough ballpark of Female Gaze.”

I appreciate their vision and their dedication to providing diversity to this field. They really do deserve acknowledgement and support.

Thank you for making it through this wall of text! And thank you to those who have already backed! :)

Go Giants! It was a gorgeous day!

Big news: we’re running a Kickstarter for Gauntlet!
The last chapter of Ellery Prime and T2A’s survival horror/romance Gauntlet will be released this coming Friday, and in order to fund a paperback version, we’re running a Kickstarter through the month of June. We can’t go to print unless we meet this goal, so I hope you check it out!
Thanks, everybody!

You guys! I finished writing Gauntlet! I actually wrote an original fiction novel! (Makes a check on the bucket list.) Survival Horror Romance! XD So this!1. Please look at the Kickstarter that just launched today to fund a print run of the book!2. The LAST chapter is coming out on Sparkler Monthly in June. (I can’t believe I survived all my deadlines without ripping all of my hair out. I can thank fandom/fanfic again for giving me practice in releasing serial chapters, even if I wasn’t always so regular in my posting of them, haha. And thanks, Lianne, for putting up with my writerly angst and for your invaluable editorial efforts.)3. All the chapters of Gauntlet are free to read during the month of June, so please take a peek if you haven’t before. :) The e-book is coming out in July. The Kickstarter has lots of cool incentives for backers, and there’s an awesome video and more information about the story and T2A (teeat2am) who does the beautiful art for Gauntlet.Today is also my wedding anniversary, so my day is chock full of celebration! (Except now I have to go grocery shopping for dinner ingredients—we like preparing fancy meals together. Well, I prefer when I just get to sit and drink wine and watch, but I’ll play Sous Chef, if I must.:))

So, Sparkler Monthly is running this: Sparkler Share Your World Contest!

How do you share your world? Draw us a picture (or a mini-comic!), write a short story or poem, or maybe even make us a song or a video about the ways that you share beloved stories with beloved people.

And the strip above is pretty much my fandom experience and how I share it. ;)

Disclaimer: I cannot draw to save my life. I used the Strip Generator to create this. Also, this is not an official contest entry. It’s just me being dorky.

My original fiction is much harder to share, actually. Is it bad if I write spinoff fic based on my own novel? Gauntlet: The Pervy Anthology. I want to write Black Jack/Red Jack and angsty Chance/August backstory, maybe some Britt/Clio hurt/comfort, Lilah/Red Jack pwp, and Gauntlet founder fic. XD

It's May! Enjoy Sparkler Issue #010

OMG, we got HamletMachine (link nsfw) to do our cover this month! *huff huff* You don’t get to enjoy the new chapter of Awake until May 23rd, but in the meantime, we’ve got all sorts of great stuff for you.

We’ve got a whole line-up of tasty treats for you to enjoy—both spin-offs of our existing series and a little sample of a prose series yet to come—and while I’ll admit I’m…

I have a short story up this month in Cherry Bomb. It’s the new 18+ line on Sparkler Monthly! My story is Jacks Are Wild. A little Black Jack/Clio action, anyone? :)

Read all of Gauntlet for free, NOW!

As a reminder, since Gauntlet is coming to its conclusion, this is a great time to check out our first Sparkler-original prose series if you haven’t already, or to catch up if you’ve fallen behind!

To further that end, the entire series is free to read for the next week, so take…

Submachine 9: The Temple realeased yesterday!

I love online browser games of the point and click, adventure, puzzle, escape variety. Some can be really repetitive and kind of tedious, but I LOVE the work by Mateusz Skutnick. His art is evocative and compelling and sometimes creepy, and his story arcs are smart, mysterious and metaphysical, and really suck you in deep. I am always eager for the next installment so I can see another layer revealed.

The Submachine series and Daymare Town series are excellent, and I highly recommend them.

They have good replay value too because there are secrets and achievements you may not find or unlock on your first pass through.

You can play for free online, or you can purchase and download an HD version for 2-5 dollars.

My favorite panel to date. Gah, the emotion! I just want to kiss those little frown lines away. Although, that sexy one where Asami is in shirt sleeves in the doorway when Akihito is brought back home by Kirishima after he’s been gone for three days is a close second. ;)
